The Basil Griffin Safe Rooms project was the construction of two 1,139 square foot tornado shelter buildings. The scope of work consisted of two 207 occupant shelters for use by park patrons and adjacent neighborhoods during the event of severe weather. The Safe Rooms were constructed with 8” reinforced concrete masonry units and concrete plank roof.
